SIGN LANGUAGE SHOULD BE TAUGHT TO EVERYONE. No one can help being deaf. We can help it if we learn how to include everyone in a convo or not.

also, if you dont use sign everyday, you can lose it. this mama has worked hard to learn it and im proud of you for that! ☺️not all parents are willing to learn.

I would've rather had learned ASL in school than French. I have not utilized French ONCE, but I've been in more than one situation where ASL could've been beneficial.

It honestly baffles me that in 2025 people don’t understand that CI and hearing aids only do so much and sign language is so important alongside spoken language and aids.

When I did registration. I had a deaf patient and I felt terrible that I couldn’t communicate with him.

I wear hearing aids. People think we put them in and magically we are not deaf anymore. It doesn't work that way. Mine overstimulates me and I need lots of hearing breaks. Even though I wear hearing aids. I am Deaf. Signing helps us communicate when they fail or we don't use them. Hells us connect to the rest of the world. Hope that helps.

It’s a common misconception that hearing aids and implants cure hearing loss… my best friend is deaf, wears hearing aids and doesn’t know sign language… she relies on seeing your mouth move or she simply doesn’t hear 95% of what you say.

in South Africa it has only recently become 1 of the official languages it's hard I think everyone in schools should have sign language classes would be so easy to have deaf kiddos and hearings kiddos to be together and not have them seperated at different schools

I love it that you educate the hearing world about the importance of ASL for the deaf community even when they have a assistive technology. That is my job, educating the hearing people in the school they work with about the deaf student I support.
