@midnighttarchives: What if the history we’re taught is only a fraction of what actually happened? Across ancient maps, sealed archives, and unexplained artifacts, there are clues suggesting vast amounts of knowledge may have been lost, hidden, or deliberately restricted over time. From mysterious devices allegedly capable of viewing the past, to ancient civilizations that appeared fully formed with advanced understanding, these stories challenge what we think we know about human history. In this slideshow, we explore historical mysteries that raise uncomfortable questions — why certain records remain sealed, how accurate knowledge existed long before it should have, and what may have been erased or withheld from the modern world. Some of these discoveries are documented, others are disputed, but all of them point to the same question: How much of our past are we still not allowed to see? Watch until the end and tell me what you think is being hidden — and why. #hiddenhistory #History #historytok #unsolvedmysteries #unsolved

the library of alexandria didn’t even really “burn”; it was partially damaged by a fire set by julius caeser and his forces during his military excursions in alexandria in 48 BCE. the entire library was hardly damaged; it was later demolished after years of disrepair in the late 300s, after its patrons and intellectuals had long since abandoned it as a place of significant learning. it’s information was copied down elsewhere: the losses suffered by its destruction are trivial at best.
