@kameronsarah: I hadn’t brought Henry to see dad in over a month. Not because he didn’t want to go. He’s a total papa’s boy. But lately, dad gets overstimulated easily, so I’ve been keeping visits calm and quiet. Today, I decided to take a chance. And I’m so glad I did. The moment dad saw Henry, he perked right up. I don’t know if he fully recognized him, but it sure felt like something familiar clicked. And seeing that made Henry just as happy. With Alzheimer’s, face recognition can fade, but emotional memory often hangs on longer. Love, comfort, and familiar energy still find their way in. We don’t know how much time we have left.
