Somaliland have been separated from the start. We were colonized by the British 🇬🇧 while the south was colonized by Italy 🇮🇹. We were first to gain our independence as Somaliland in 1960 but joined with Somalia 🇸🇴 in 1961. After a civil war and a brutal Somali 🇸🇴 dictator that killed 200k ethnic Somalilanders we seceded and became an independent nation in 1991. Ever since then we were domestically functioning as a sovereign nation that has their own currency, military, flag, government and free elections where everyone gets a vote 🗳️for who becomes the president. Now with gods help we are finally being recognized as a peaceful, stable and democratic nation that has met the requirements to become a recognized sovereign nation. Israel thnks you😂😂😂

After independence, Somaliland voluntarily chose to join Somalia, but this union did not last long, as the region suffered large-scale massacres and severe violations by Somalia in the 1980s and 1990s. In 1991, Somaliland declared its independence again and built its own government, achieving security and stability, even though the international community has not officially recognized it to this day. Despite all the challenges, the people of Somaliland have persevered and built a state that respects security and freedom, while preserving its identity and history .
