@ggeyedoctors.cambridge: Patient says his vision is perfect… but his retina says otherwise 👀 Would you catch this without a fundus photo? #🔴 PDR – Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy Advanced diabetic eye disease where abnormal new blood vessels grow on the retina. These vessels can bleed suddenly, cause traction, and lead to severe vision loss—often before the patient notices any symptoms. 🟠 BRVO – Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion Occurs when a small retinal vein is blocked, usually from hypertension or diabetes. Leads to retinal hemorrhages, edema, and ischemia. Vision may seem “fine” initially depending on location and macular involvement. 👉 Key lesson: Good vision ≠ healthy retina. #R#RetinaE#EyeDoctorF#FundusPhotographyD#DiabeticRetinopathy
