@thesewcialcafe: I made the Antoinette Jacket from start to finish…prototype, adjustments, cutting, and sewing and everything was moving along just fine… until it wasn’t. My serger started acting up, I had to rethread it more times than I can count, change the needles, and at one point my screwdriver literally fell apart in my hands. It was one of those moments where you pause, take a breath, and remind yourself that this is part of the process. I encourage everyone to sew, but I’m not here to sell the idea that it’s always smooth or easy. There will be moments when you want to throw the machine out the window, especially when you’re rushing. That’s usually your cue to slow down, reset, and keep going. Don’t let the machines win.
