@julietteamie: To anyone who wants to listen! Asheville is open and it’s beautiful. The hikes are UNBELIEVABLE. It’s underrated, we loved it. So lucky to have spent Christmas there 🫶🏼 #britinamerica #asheville #northcarolina #lifeinamerica
Juliette, as a North Carolinian you get it 🥰 If you come back to the mountains of NC you should visit Boone and Blowing Rock. It’s super dog friendly and Grandfather Mountain is a sight to see! Come on back now, ya hear 🤠

Appalachia specifically is a larger community around eastern TN and western NC that has existed for hundreds of years. The early Scottish settlers settled there. Its culture is very specially Appalachian. And it’s pronounced “appa” “latch” “a”.

Thank you for visiting Asheville. We are funky. Our motto is “ stay weird “. You will never eat at the same restaurant twice the food is phenomenal. Thank for supporting WNC. We appreciate you.

Juliette, make sure you put the Outer Banks of NC (OBX) on your bucket list. You can go there year round but definitely would go during the late spring, summer or early fall . It is a night and day difference from South Carolina in a good way.

I love your takes on these experiences! You’re exactly right, the South is not one size fits all. It changes about every 100 miles when you drive in any direction.

You're correct about the coastal south and the mountains. I love both! Thanks for mentioning the need to support local businesses. They've worked so hard to recover and had to be so patient during the process. They deserve fully restored tourism. AVL is a wonderful area!

What a great description. It’s helpful to have an outsider’s opinion that isn’t critical simply comparative

It makes my heart so happy y’all have fallen in love with our South and spend a lot of energy sharing that love! And yes some of my favorite quirky little restaurants and breweries never recovered from the storm and yes those that survived need our support! 🥰

I love hearing your take. I'm from coastal south ( Bluffton area) and also have family from Appalachia, you're take is 100% correct. Both are beautiful but for different reasons in different ways.
