I was sick, I called in and my manager hung up on me (the first day). The second day I was still sick in bed. I called in and he demanded a doctor note. I asked if he was paying for the doctor visit and he said no. So I said no I quit. I didn’t want to work for a place that treats people so poorly.

As a manager- I have my team just text me saying “can’t make it in today” i make sure they are safe but other than that I don’t need or require details about why. I never understood the “explanation “ part of calling in.

I took a page from Teen Wolf- sorry I have explosive diarrhea and - "we'll see you tomorrow!" NEVER FAILS! And yes I even used this to get out of a 2 hr drive for a Christmas party me and my wife were too exhausted to attend 😂
