As a barlady , although bartending comes with its hardships, I’m not sure I could ever leave, I work my big girl job & im still stuck behind the bar some nights. I’ve bonded with more people behind that bar than on social media/ outside ect , I love bartending , and yes I have left, I resigned and came back 3 months later because that’s how much I missed it

I think you worded this great, that’s exactly how I got behind bar cause someone quit and I just happen to have the same schedule they needed filled. I’m trying to find a new job cause bartending is not for me. I’m not a people person so being behind bar is emotionally exhausting for me. The money can be great but it’s not worth the amount of stress you have to deal with. Can’t wait to get out ✌️

Bartending is like the only thing in life I do well. It’s taken me from Albany, Oregon to Norway 🇳🇴 and in between I’ve tended bar in 4 other states and 5 other countries. You can really take it as far as you want to if you try.

Everyone commenting it’s not that deep. Maybe not for you but I feel it depends what kind of bar you work at dive/sports bars get crazy fancy bars slow and relaxed. Not everyone has the same feelings but I resonate with this post thank you 🫶🏼
