@schmiiindy: @GarminAviation in action! I love having terrain awareness in my plane and displayed on my GTN 650 Xi. The color key is easy to read and is a great way to double check my flight planning in-air and make sure I have the terrain clearance I was expecting. #GarminAmbassador In this clip, I was surrounded by a lot of high terrain with a plan to fly on top of a road that cut through lower mountain tops. As I climbed over the city, my route turned black as expected and gave me piece of mind to carry on! So what exactly do the colors mean? 🔴 Red: Terrain Is Above Or Within 100 ft Below The Aircraft Altitude 🟡 Yellow: Terrain Is Between 100 ft and 1000 ft Below The Aircraft Altitude ⚫️ Black: Terrain that is more than 2000 ft below your current altitude.
