We give penalty chores for eye rolls. Eyerolling is disrespectful and should not be a response, ever. So if we see it...penalty chores. An example of a penalty chores would be cleaning the vents or wiping the cabinets down. we have a list of penalty chores and they roll a dice to see what they get for eyerolling. Fixed that behavior real quick. 😂

Omg the “why don’t you make them help you?” makes me crash out. Like, WOW it never occurred to me to tell them repeatedly over a period of YEARS to clean up after themselves or to try to create that habit since they were little or to do literally anything that would encourage them to do it/consequences for not doing it. I thought they’d just start cleaning one day!! Gosh, you really opened my eyes. Do you have any other tips since I’ve had no idea what I’ve been doing the past 22 years?? 🙄

When I tell my daughter to clean her room she will also tell me that she can't do it now because she already has it planned out to do it in the wee hours of the morning while on the phone with her bestie cause they are gonna clean there rooms together 😒🙄🤦♀️

I successfully raised two teenage daughters to adulthood without ending up in an episode of Snapped. I feel like there should be an award…a free two week vacation…something😅 (before you comment “it’s your job bla blah blah” I know. It’s a joke.

Ok - mine’s broken!! He cleans his own room weekly without being told (and I mean dusting, hoovering, emptying his bin, changing his bed, using the carpet cleaner) but god forbid if I ask him to walk the dog or empty the dishwasher!!
