I’ve been no oils/butter for almost 2 years and my serborrheic dermatitis prone scalp couldn’t thank me enough! I wash weekly with moisturizing products at every step of my routine and style for the week and my hair is still soft and come next wash day. I’ve also never realized how much the excess oil every where bugged me.

Yup!! People villainized grease because of user error. Greasiness, clogged pores, etc are all avoided with a good clarifying shampoo. Which coincidentally people also villainize because they dont properly remoisturize properly or they used it when they didn’t actually need it😭

I was waiting for that trend to be over and for my sisters to find the light again 😭 The no oils and grease thing was weird. It never made sense to me, and I didn’t see a lot of length retention from the ppl who followed that regimen. Y’all were acting like our ancestors didn’t know ball.

Keep on telling the girls all you need is some clean water to moisturize and grease to seal in moisture. Dry hair? Want length retention? That’s the remedy. Hair was down our backs when we were kids! Stop changing recipes lol. Braid your hair up with water and grease and leave it alone until time to wash! Repeat!

Also a victim. I went a little too hard. Those midshaft splits were demonic. I'm not using blue magic, but am using a light pomade on my ends and a leave in conditioner with light oils.
