@tb11mom: PINK BLIZZARD!!! North Central Iowa had a blizzard yesterday, this was about 4:45pm. The pink hue comes from sunlight reflecting off the bottoms of storm clouds or in this case, snowflakes, creating the pink color (so google says). What they’re saying is though it was not a "pink blizzard" in the literal sense. The vibrant pink glow resulted from the last rays of daylight reflecting off snowflakes in the air as clouds thinned after a day of heavy snow, strong winds, and blizzard conditions.
