Grieving does not have a timeline and I hate that a bunch of the commenters are fixated on how OP is grieving and trying to assign blame to her when she sounds very sure of herself and has expressed that she has a very full life outside her romantic relationships. I think she is grieving healthily honestly.

The 5 stages of grief has really ruined peoples understanding of how grief actually works and think its a simple process that has a clean cut ending when Elisabeth Kübler-Ross developed the model for terminally ill people not all grieving in general 😭 Loss is not a step by step process on a set timeline its fluid and individualized.

People are weird about this. Of course getting remarried/engaged leads to mourning your deceased partner. That's just a natural step when you are moving forward in life when they can't. Honestly she would have been well within her right to wear that ring on her ring finger for the rest of her life.

Why are all the commenters insisting she isn’t ready? Grief is a different experience for everyone and choosing to keep items doesn’t mean she’s hung up on her late husband, or not ready to date. It is perfectly normal and healthy to keep her ring and the commenters are telling her the only way she’s ready is if she fully forgets her husband
