Happy end of year! As always, this #artvsartist format helps to round up all the paintings that I’d mostly forgotten I made by now! 🎨 2025 wasn’t all about art for me, though, and I suspect no year ever will be again. I’ve found fulfillment as an artist in finding fulfillment in anything BUT art 😂 It sounds backwards, but I think it’s the healthiest way to stay creative without the pressure to create! It’s all about where I put my identity now. I don’t need to prove that I’m a darn good artist to myself anymore, so instead I just make what I love to see in the world 💫 For right now, I guess I love to see animals, lip gloss, pink, and vaguely otherworldly portraits (of women, always women). I wonder what 2026 will bring for all of us! #artvsartist2025 - @melmel.cascas
