I just opened Roth IRA through fidelity but I don’t understand how to invest in the accounts I want to. Do you have a step by step on how to actually setup the investment? I added money, but don’t k ow where I go to invest it

Another costly Roth IRA mistake that might be worth a video which I just learned today (fortunately before filing my taxes). If you do a backdoor Roth IRA, it will look like you have to pay taxes on your Traditional IRA for the “disbursement” which was just the conversion to Roth. However, the money I put into my Traditional IRA was already AFTER tax dollars. You must file a Form 8606, otherwise you will pay taxes TWICE. 😳

I want to start but i need more information on how to start. I have watched your previos detailed video on how to open a Roth IRA account with fidelity. (Thank you for explaining that btw). The part that is confusing me is the investment part. Im currently in an unpaid internship but would like to open an account to get started. I am currently 25 and want to gain more knowledge on investing and HYSA.

What if I put in my $7000 in my Roth IRA next month and start investing into 3 etf will it still grow? Or should I put small amounts of money then start investing?

I have a fidelity Roth IRA that is “professionally managed.” Is this good? I assume it means they’re investing for me?

Can you talk about a regular IRA? I came from a company and I had a 401(k) and they rolled it into a regular IRA and I have no idea about what’s going on with it after that. And I am 61.

Have you worked with federal tsps? Federal Roth and Federal TSP accounts get combined as where the money goes (stocks, funds, or cash) but it does allow you to have different percentage contribution like 3% for the ROTH and 15% on the TSP but both go to the same stocks selected in the TSP account. I wish I could separately select where my ROTH goes and not be the same as my TSP.
