I would prefer that the 1980s balata ball and wood drivers be played. Golf courses should not be longer than 7000 yds. US Open setup but not to the point that putting is impossible (putts rolling off the green and into the fairway).

I think there are TWO different stories here because there are TWO different agendas happening at the same time. The TGL and made for TV golf stuff is just to get attention/clicks/views from golf fans (& non golfers) who are kinda bored with watching tournament golf on TV and want something “more”. In my opinion, the PGA rolling back the ball for Professional tournament play is an attempt at bringing more parity to the professional game. Both agendas are attempting to create a bigger audience. Maybe it’ll work. Maybe it won’t. Only time will tell.

Thanks for speaking about this man. PGA tour has been trending absolutely backwards for a while now and it’s infuriating. I don’t know who half of this stuff is geared towards, seriously.

The average Korn Ferry event is a 1 million purse , 180,000 to winner. With all the money put into the signature events, 20 million, the tour should put a million more into each Korn Ferry tournament, we need to develop the next stars and these guy’s expenses are almost as much as the regular tour let them make a living . College golf is stacked with talent and players keep getting younger and better. If in 2027 the model is only 20 events and the majors then these limited field events need to expand to give more guys opportunities.

I assume you’re new to this golf stuff??? You see how many course changes Augusta National has made to keep up with distance. This isn’t sustainable. Did you not watch the last major at St. Andrews? 5.5 hour rounds, driver, pitch every hole. Not how the course is intended to play….

Literally every decision that has come from the PGA tour over the last few years has been to protect/benefit guys like Rory. They are completely catering to the top 10% of the tour and punishing the bottom 90%. It would be like if Tom Brady and the Pats got to start 5-0 every year.
