I will never understand the indoctrination. I saw someone say that everyone in med school would have genuine empathy and want to care for others, but they (almost) always caring more about money and status than patients

THISSSS i talk about this all the time!! Like if it’s purely your ego why won’t you wannabe find the treatment or help a patient when no one else could?? If you’re gonna be egotistic etc at least make ground breaking changes in medicine and patient lives. I mean why wouldn’t they want to be the Dr who found the or a treatment..? They’d be talked about and well known. Not that this is why drs should do better but if it is ego based then at least make it beneficial. I hope this makes sense it’s hard to articulate rn 😅
