I understand how Betty Broderick may have felt, but I also believe her approach and her ex-husband’s approach played a role in how everything unfolded. They were both toxic for each other. She was the primary caregiver, raising their children and holding the home together, while he was the financial provider. I think he used his education and financial power against her, and she wasn’t willing to stand for it and honestly, no one should have to tolerate that. However, no matter how painful or unjust a situation becomes, taking a life is never the answer. I believe much of what happened was shaped by how they both responded to conflict and hurt. Their story is tragic because it shows how unresolved pain and toxic dynamics can spiral into irreversible consequences.
