He handled the claim incorrectly. He should have reported the accident to the police. Notified his insurance company. Received compensation. Not get involved with the subrogation between the car insurance and the post office. The would have a chance to pull the PO truck over for the hit and run.

I would have called the police that's hit and run dude. or at the very least fleeing the side of an accident. and it would have taken me all of 3 minutes to get a hold of a really good attorney my attorney would have been making the phone calls to the post office in the postmaster not me. and why would you accept the check from the insurance company that's not of the value that it should be. this is what lawyers are for. you can sue them for every dime you spent because of this accident and make them pay for your lawyer I get with it
