The actual tale is about a Jewish man who killed 99 men and will go on to fulfill a 100 (the Rabbi who rebuked him). Then falls into regret again and visits a wiseman who instructs him to leave the land of mostly sinners and emigrate to land of where righteous were numerous. The almost reached but dies before entering the city. He was forgiven for his strong will despite not succeeding. The Moral here was more about intention and the will to fight against one's own demons. This story is recorded in Islamic sources but is actually attributed to Israelites. There are plenty of such stories about Jew and Jewish saints.

no the story is not like that, the first judge he met told him that god won't forgave you, so he killed him and now have a count of 100 kills, then he met another judge and asked him the same thing, and he told him that yes god is all mercy and forgivull and advised him to go to a town that the majority of are all muslim, and in his way to that town he died.

the origins of this tale come from Islamic tales . Here's the original version : After killing 100 people, a desperate man asked if he could still repent. A true scholar told him, "Nothing stands between you and God’s mercy—go to a pious land and worship there." He died on the way, but because his heart and steps were turned toward goodness, God forgave him.

Well this story is not true I don’t know where you heard it the true story is this guy who killed 99 people did go to the man who he asked but in the true story is the man said no how could god forgive you and the killer killed him then he went to a other man but this man told him to go out of land where he killed those people and he died there the conclusion from this story is you don’t decide if god doesn’t forgive people or forgive them because god Allah has great mercy that you can’t even count ❤️.
