We need to open a petition on social media to prevent anyone from using the words “Black man” or “Black king” for fetishisation reasons. We all know this: some white women are interested in a very specific demographic of Black men. They seek big, tall, muscular Black men the same physical type that was once auctioned during the slave trade. They are not interested in the average, everyday Black man living a normal life with dignity. When people reduce a whole race to a body type, they are not admiring us they are continuing an old system of dehumanisation. True respect sees the mind, character, and humanity, not the flesh. Liberation begins when we refuse to let our identity be turned into someone else’s fantasy.
