This is an excellent lesson in ecosystems management. Because the people on that island killed all their reef sharks, allowing the bull shark's entire sharks to come closer to the shore. in the late twentieth century, it was one of the best, surfing and swimming destinations on earth. now you can't swim there at all or surf.

I went to the Seychelles years ago and it was beautiful. While on a beach, a baby tiger shark bumped into me in very shallow water. We were both scared and I got out quickly.

Last registered shark attack : 2019. As in every country : respect safety mesures and you’ll be fine. I don’t see many people in South Africa going out in the wild complaining about Lions living there.

Reunion's girl here ! our island is part of Unesco, which our biodiversity is protected and we cant build anywhere we want. That is also a reason to protect endemical animals and plants.

Many beaches are perfectly safe and open for swimming. Shark attacks are extremely rare — the last one was 10 years ago.
