My 7-month-old dachshund is having joint problems. She won’t jump from high places or go up and down stairs, so I always carry her everywhere. But her joints were affected by another cause that can also lead to spinal injuries or herniated discs: spaying. That’s right, studies show that spaying pets before their first heat or before they reach full maturity can significantly increase the risk of spine issues and problems in the hind body. My dog was spayed very early, at just one and a half months old. Please take care of your pets and never buy from breeders who spay dachshunds before they are fully mature, especially in the first months of life. Avoid that at all costs.
