Christopher Columbus and his own interpreter wrote letters back to the King and Queen of Spain describing the people of the Americas as resembling Ethiopians and Moors. This is documented in journals, books, artifacts, statues, and ancient records found across the world. We are the so called Black Indians, the original Indigenous people of the Americas, once referred to as the end of the world. Our people were reclassified repeatedly, erased on paper, renamed, divided, and attacked by multiple nations seeking to seize our land, our bodies, and our identity. Colonization was not just physical warfare. It was psychological, spiritual, and generational. Yet our ancestors were resilient warriors. They fought for over 300 years. They did not flee. They protected their descendants, preserved fragments of language, culture, and memory, even under the threat of being Unalived. Their survival lives in us. With honor, respect, and ancestral guidance, we rise now. We will no longer be erased. We are still here. We are still alive. Our ancestors have spoken, and it is our time to stand as one.
