I mean it’s the Empyrean series… not the Rider series. The dragons play a much bigger role than we know. Why do you think the Irid’s are all about peace and harmony, and do not like what the normal dragons stand for.

There are six dragon dens (all of which the venin are trying to kill at any opportunity given), there are also six gods(maybe each one represents a den), then of course there are the irids a seventh 'den', but they claim they "are magic" and even venin dont seem to be interested in KILLING those. Also btw, there is definitely something big with the number SIX. Six breeds, six gods, six provinces of Navarre, six letters in the lock for the books, six crates of daggers the venin stole, six people in the quest squad, of course The Six, six hundred years andarna waited to hatch, six eggs missing, the blade of aretia was in Navarre for six hundred years. And these are just the ones I noticed so there might possibly be more

My take on this is that the Venin see the dragons as magic gatekeepers which is why Jack refers to them as villains while. To him the Venin are okay because they show that anyone could/should have access to magic, not just the dragons and those bonded to them.

It literally says in Book 1 that the dragons are evil. I have believed this throughout. The dragons are the bad guys and they want the most powerful signet weavers so they can use them for their end goal. Violet's dad knew this. I think he was killed because of it.

Something tells me that in the next book Violet will enter Jack's dreams to get answers and Jack will give them to her because he is secretly in love with her. He saved her in the second book, that means a lot.. 😅😳

gonna say something real controversial here, but the dragons are evil. i feel like tairn, sgaeyl, andarna, & those bonded to the marked ones/iron squad aren’t inherently evil, but the rest very much so are. codagh is a prime example, he knows exactly what navarre & the dragons are doing is wrong, which is why he protected the marked ones with their relics against melgren’s signet. during that tyrrendor battle, all those dragons were okay with killing their own, knowing the rebellion rider’s were right about venin all along. this is also why for centuries dragons knew venin were very real, but never said anything to their humans. they went along with navarre’s lie that the enemies are the gryphon & their riders and didn’t have a single issue with leaving innocents to die & fighting the wrong people. they bonded humans initially to keep humans under their control. there’s a reason we know only about 1% of dragon’s laws & way of life

Okay… and I haven’t seen anyone say this but: mind you the series is called the empyrean series… meaning the real plot is about the dragons… I think towards the end of the series a lot will unfold that reveals the empyrean’s secrets and possibly feeds into the theory that violet is part dragon 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
