I am unsure of your clinical trial but I have stage 4, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and when I started immunotherapy (keytruda) I had progression for the first few scans and then around the 3rd scan (so around 6 months) it started to stabilize and then remained stable for years and it wasn't until recently they really started to respond. This April will be 6 years since they told me I was terminal with 3-6 months left. I am praying that this works for you Syd, much love 💚

As a radiology resident who reads follow-up cancer CTs it could always be something called pseduoprogession. Similar to what you mentioned there could be inflammation and edema due to the immunotherapy making it seem like it got bigger when in reality it didn’t. The next few scans will give you a better idea. Stay positive 🤞🏼.

It breaks my heat that she never ever got good news. The only good news her oncologist gave was someone else’s good news!

My mom’s scans got worse on immuno therapy before improving. She had kidney cancer tha spread to lung, and pancreas. Had it removed and then immuno. She’s been in remission for 2 years now. You got this.

As a nurse, I am not a fan of patients reading their results before the scan is assessed by their physician and a full medical explanation is delivered to them. I think patients may misinterpret results and cause themselves unwarranted stress.

Syd try putting it into ChatGPT for some information and also mention any symptom improvements you’ve had, it could give you an idea of what’s going on. You can also tell chat gpt the genetic markers of your cancer the type, your history etc and it can give you some more information and help you come up with questions to ask your doctor tomorrow.
