@stefaniemariefit: 𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗔𝗜𝗥𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗦 ✈️ (𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁) Filmed with my friend Alisa, DPT (𝘋𝘰𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘺) as she coaches me through proper hip airplanes — because this is one exercise a LOT of people do wrong. What a hip airplane actually is: A single-leg hip stability + mobility drill that trains your glute med, deep hip rotators, and pelvic control while keeping your spine neutral. Why we should be doing them: • Improves hip & pelvic stability • Helps protect the low back & knees • Builds glute activation (especially the side glute) • Huge carryover to squats, deadlifts, lunges & running Common mistakes we’re sharing in this video: ❌ Rotating through the lower back instead of the hip ❌ Opening too far and losing the glute contraction ❌ Locking out the stance knee ❌ Letting balance take over instead of muscle control This is a control > range exercise. If you lose the contraction, you lose the benefit. 📌𝙎𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 & 𝙨𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 #hipstability #hipmobiility #mobilitytraining
