I still think about my patient with a thrombus in transit literally as I was scanning them. That snake was trying to crossover the tricuspid. By the time they had a CT it turned into a saddle PE, literally 5-10 minutes later, and they were walking around the room when I came in. Freaking wild. Thankfully I was on the tele unit and the cardiologist was at the nurses station 😬.

I’m becoming a nurse but I will never forget the nurse who sat with me during Covid when I was scared and alone after breaking my wrist.

Yes, I connect with my patients on a deep level and truly care about their health and wellbeing, it’s easy to be too invested ✨

I’m an oncology nurse that had a patient who had small cell lung cancer. Prognosis is usually 6 months. He fought for over two years! What got him through I believe is he was so positive, so grateful, just all around such a cool guy. He always had a good attitude. He spent his last months going hunting, beach trips, football games, everything he loved. He became a friend to me, I just adored him. He said he refused to die until the Bills went to the Super Bowl, they did last year and he died a few days later. I’ll never ever forget him!

I’m a laboratory technologist and I still think about patients that never even knew I existed. I see their results get better & worse & I root for them from behind the scenes. 😭😭

i still think about my nurse during delivery of my second baby. i was so scared i wouldn’t make it because of complications with my first. i was having panic attacks and if she was judging me then she never once showed it. she was an angel on earth. i will forever remember her kindness. it’s been almost two years, too.

I still think about the nurse over 10 years ago who would come in and administer my pain meds in the dark right on time without me asking because she didn't want me to be in pain. She advocated for additional pain meds when I had breakthrough pain. She taught me to put an ice pack on my head for headaches and to sniff alcohol wipes for nausea. I hope she is having a lovely life.

I went to a specialist appointment once, terrified and all alone, in my early twenties. The nurse asked me why I was nervous, and I explained my history. She cried with me and bought me lunch, saying it was "to take just one burden from me". She probably thinks I've forgotten her, but I never will. I think about her often, and I hope people are always as kind to her as she was to me.

Working in pharmacy and being so annoyed by someone’s little quirks when they come in. When they don’t come in anymore makes me regret ever getting annoyed with them. There’s quite a few of them that I know I’ll miss. Some of them we literally see daily or every other day

Do you get a ecg connected when someone needs a cardiac ultrasound or is it just a scan

I scanned a patient in the ER and found an aortic dissection. He was shipped out so I didn’t know if he made it or not. About 6 months later I scanned one of his family members that was in the room when I scanned him and they said he was doing well and thanked me for saving his life.

not a nurse or in healthcare but I still to this day think of the amazing team of nurses I had that saved my life. the one who screamed at me to keep breathing before intubating me. the nurse who was nine months pregnant holding my hand while going into the MRI bc I was terrified and delirious from my fever. the nurses from the ICU floor that came to see me once I was moved to the cardiac floor. I spent three weeks with them in the ICU. they called me their mermaid bc of my hair and left me little notes. it's been seven years but I still think of them. they all helped save my life and keep me calm when I was dying. I am very lucky to be alive and I give the credit to those nurses.

I had a woman that was 40 years older than me and asked me if I have kids and I have been in a weird funk that I will only had one. She told me about adopting her granddaughter and restarting being a mom at 39. She had Covid and was scared of passing and leaving but she told me she would adopt her youngest all over again. I saw her obituary a few months ago and melted into a puddle.

My son’s nurse I think about so often. She was pregnant and fought his insurance company for the mri he needed and I’ve been trying to get approved for months and she got it. Because of her my son got the medical attention he needed. I wish I knew the daisy award was back then or how to find her name now 5 years later
