I love that this is a universal experience for kennel workers lol. We had a pig who you could only get to go places by leaving a trail of marshmallows. When the owners dropped her off we had an entire cabinet full of bags of marshmallows, like literally originally 100 bags

I work in Boarding at a vet clinic and we have a pig that comes in for Boarding. She sleeps in one of the dog kennels and she has a harness too. The owners don’t bring a litter box for her, though she goes outside to potty like the dogs. I also lure her to go outside with a line of treats because if she doesn’t wanna go outside, she screams and it sounds like I’m murdering her.

the boarding facility i used to work at allowed exotics of all kinds so we’ve had ferrets, birds, guinea pigs, turtles, a great dane sleeping in the same room as a 4mo old kitten where the dog didn’t like our kurunda beds so we had cushions for her but the cat would take the big one and make her sleep on the floor

my mom had a pet pig (also a house pig) that died right before i was born. her name was daisy and i remember when i was a kid there was a big hole in the wall from her and my mom says one time daisy and the dog got in a bad fight lol

I used to pet sit a indoor piggie. I sure do miss her! That girl was spicyyyyy. But she had a doggie door and used it. Thank god she couldn’t do the stairs. Because I would hide upstairs from her when she was extra spicy

first kennel had a pig who had 5 dog siblings...he was leash trained and potty trained (better than 2 of those dog siblings too), and we would walk him down the hall and carry him around his name was "PigPig"

I've never been bitten by a dog. I have, however, been bitten by a pig. Grabbed me by the calf and shook me like a dog. I was farmsitting this pig and he didnt want me near his ladies (I was giving them water).

We got a “rehomed” pig and that mother fucker was the devil I had actual beef with this pig he would chase me and SCREAM and he trapped me in the garage and I was too afraid to get past him. He was a full grown meat pig he was like 800 lbs and we did eventually kill him for meat (why he was bred and the original purpose of getting him it’s a long story) and I hate pork but I ate that bitch rest in hell Cooper

Im a pet sitter and I also live right next to a dog kennel so I can attest to the stress kennels cause to pets. All pets act completely different when they are left at home rather than in a cage.

My pet hotel was near an international airport so every so often we would get a call to come pick up pets on their extended layover to get some rest and use the bathroom. We were never told what it was going to be (9 times out of 10 it was a designer puppy) one time it was a pot belly pig.

My husband is a contractor. I help him often, esp in summer. one week we did all the windows and doors in this guy's farmhouse. but he had this HIGE black and pink potbelly pig girl. She ran shrieking around but she was nice. So I started by offering her (after making sure the owner didn't care) some of my breakfast fruit. then all of it. then all of my husbands breakfast. Then, thru out the day, in between tasks, the pig and I sought each other out, and I'd feed her more and more of my lunch. Then my snacks. (We had long days, like 6am to 9pm doing manual labor so packed multiple meals and snacks.) Then my husbands lunch. Then his snacks. I spent like all my downtime with this pig, and husband was busy all day, with me being busy like 3/4 of the day as some stuff I couldn't do; so i fed that pig like 4 meals (my and husband's lunch and breakfast) plus like 6 large snacks 😂😂😂 We finally finish at like 9pm, we are HOURS from home, we load up, I zip my lunchbox as the homeowner is writing the check, the pig hears and comes running and snorting for snacks, so I fed her the "emergency" PB crackers and cheese in the work truck as we said our goodbyes 😂😂😂 My husband was half annoyed and half amused bc he hadn't eaten all day (tbh NEITHER HAD I) bc I fed piggy all our food 😂😂😂) and now we had to drive like 2 hours to he nearest town (east tn rural area), but everything there was closed so we had to drive two MORE hours to our town to get food. 😂 I felt bad but we still joke about how much I loved that pigger and how I fed it EVERYTHING forcing us to STARVE while doing manual labor in the southern summer 😂😂 (oh and I also let her drink our Gatorade and green tea, again with owners blessing, he thought it was hilarious how this pig hated everyone but loved me (bc I fed her ig lol) and watched her lovingly snarf up everything all day 😂😂😂 Still one of my best work memories!
