Lulu :
When I reported a human trafficking situation in Denver on Jan 10th 2026, I called 911 several times and was told that “911 is not like the movies” and that they could not do anything. I also contacted the FBI twice and submitted digital evidence and messages from the victim to Denver Police Department Districts 7 and 2, including texts from the victim saying she was being held and trafficked.with her live location.
Despite all of that, I could not even get a welfare check.
I was out of state trying to help someone who was asking for help, and the system that is supposed to respond to emergency situations like this simply did nothing. .
I am not sure if the issue is weak protocols, lack of training, or something else, but something clearly needs to improve. Human trafficking is a serious issue, and when someone reaches out for help in a crisis, the report should be taken seriously, properly investigated, and not completely dismissed by 911, the FBI, and the Denver Police Department. I’m extremely disappointed, in total shock and disbelief. The system has failed a victim of human trafficking. That’s UNACCEPTABLE!!
