I've seen this debated and it causes confusion. 90 degrees with an 8mm is what is recommended everywhere for sub-q so by these guidelines you wouldn't be deep enough.

Before you inject, clean the area and start to just touch or poke but not through the skin, if it hurts mover a few cm’s away until you find an area that doesn’t hurt. It’s much more enjoyable when it doesn’t hurt.
