Not an argument, just some possible insight: I’m from the same tri-state area Clooney grew up in (my mom grew up hanging out with a family who were actually related to the Clooneys in the 60s/70s), I’ve lived in Paris, and I live in the UK now - so I can see why they chose France. As strange as it may seem the overall community vibe I experienced in Paris was similar to the community my mother described / what I witnessed. That said based on conversations with my Romanian friend, Romania and the OH/KY/IN tri-state area have very similar community practices and values.

It’s so interesting about the privacy laws because one day in Starbucks these two French women walked up to me and asked to take a picture of my kids! I said ask them? And they said nope and I said ok you heard them. And they rolled their eyes at us and walked away. I didn’t know anything about the privacy laws but that experience was so bizarre. 😭😭😭
