@wildmotherlife: “The internet isn’t even fun anymore.” I told my husband the other day after discussing the impending doom and helplessness I feel over AI coming all too quickly. Somewhere between predators stealing children’s faces, watching everyone use ChatGPT, Brainrot, and “AI girlfriends”, I’ve found myself at a place rather tired of the internet. Things are going downhill fast on here. So to 2026-The year of the analog. The year of getting off socials, the year of reading books in public and filling my days with real life creativity. I plan to have a huge garden this year. Homeschool my clever kiddos. Connect with friends over tea and cookies. Document more birth stories for local women in my community. Read at least 2 books a month. I’m starting to journal again. I’m growing in the Christian faith I rediscovered this year of finding God in the ancient traditions of the eastern orthodox Church. I want to start a new hobby this year. Maybe Pilates. Maybe rowing?! Maybe an art class or two. Maybe selling some handmade goods at a few fairs. Teach my kids to crochet. I hope you all have a beautiful winter season. Don’t forget to that the internet isn’t “real”. Don’t forget that CHAT regularly lies. Collect books. Make art. Be present with your kids.
