@reasonandreligion: Philosophy can be incredible difficult and sometimes feels like you’re reading a completely different language. I think that the best solution to this problem is reading secondary literature. These break down the philosophical concepts and lightens the academic tone so that philosophy can be accessible to the public. #philosophy #philosophytiktok #BookTok #bookrecs #books
the Cambridge companions are generally really, really good.

This is a good advice for someone who does not take philosophy seriously which is of course fine. But for someone who is genuinely animated by a philosophical spirit this will thwart one’s capacity to meet the philosopher as they are. Even this is an art form that is rare in our age and there are many who question around what age such a posture can sufficiently become developed or cultivated. I am not saying your insight will never be of assistance. It may be for many. But it can also complicate matters for others. For those who are serious about philosophy it is better to strive to digest an author yourself as opposed to reading from other individual’s who digested their work. Add to this the fact that many people themselves even with “popular” selling books such as these do not adequately understand the author and further confusion generates. I am not stating that regarding these books as I have never read them. I have always desired to meet philosophers and relate to them personally as opposed to meeting a representation of them. Perhaps there are instances where representations of them are reasonable but I wonder what percentage lean towards misrepresentation more than anything else.

#BlindMind .The Philosophy Of Reality. Imagine That You Can Be Outside The Universe As An Observer. Imagine Our Universe As A Small Sphere The Size Of A Snow Globe. Imagine That This Small Sphere Is Surrounded By An Ocean With No Boundary In Any Direction. Imagine That This Ocean Is Just One And No Other Type Of Substance. This Is The Ocean Of Consciousness. It Is Boundless Without Limits. It Is Omnipresent Without Vacuum Or Void. This Is The Entity That We Inherently Know Exists. This Is Consciousness With Ego. THIS IS GOD. Now Imagine That Our Universe Snow Globe Did Not Always Exist. How Did It Come Into Existence? It Could Only Have Come From The Ocean Of Consciousness. It Is A Bubble Of Consciousness. But It Has Been Transformed To A Substance That Mankind Has Called Energy. Where Energy Is A Gauge Symmetry Transform Of Consciousness. Energy And Consciousness Are Comparable. Our Universe Is A Womb. The Theory Of Everything Is The Theory Of Reality. C || E + mc2. GOD IS BACK. WE ARE NOT ALONE. You Ask For Proof. Yes.
