This might be a crazy theory but I think her people misinterpreted Eywa. I think Eywa was trying to give them fire to live in harmony with just like the air tribes, water tribes, and forest tribes. They were just afraid and the only one who wasn’t afraid was angry.

I love evil characters. Especially where they aren’t misunderstood. She was very clear actually. She has a backstory and a reason why she is how she is. But she is just pure evil and enjoys it. I love her, her and her people add so much to the story.

i think people are misunderstanding why varang is upset. it's not because of the eruption. It's the fact that her people were STARVING and ewya didn't answer their call for help. she probably experienced a lot of death bc of that.

I always thought, and still do, Varang had the potential for so much more than just being "carried" by Quaritch. I really think they wasted an amazing character, no guns, no grenades, no "technology," he could accomplish so much more. Alone, without the help of Quaritch.
