Alex :
In most cases, using a flash for live music is a huge NO but so cool that you got it right before the show. Lol

I recently started taking photos at concerts, but one thing I was asked was to avoid using the flash. I only use it with my back to the stage when taking photos of someone or of the stage with the audience.

when you ask the band permission to use flash and they're like "wow usually no one asks but sure" 🥲

Not quite sure why you're using a flash at all. There's so much great ambient lighting that could be utilized. Play with your settings first before you use a flash.

I don’t understand why flashes are so unpopular in concert photography. Most of my bands that I photograph say yes to the question of whether I can flash and some want that explicitly.

Glad they let you use flash for the show tho! Everytime I put mine on the camera I’m re-learning the buttons!!! If you can get TTL mode that’s a good start

Unless the venue or talent tells me no, I’m always using flash. Unless it’s day time or scenery shots. Personal preference I guess
