I feel like she should be getting way more respect for this! Cause she’s really stepping up for her family! Big ups to her!

I moved home to take care of my dad when I was 26 and I’m so grateful I could spend that time with him.

“you can keep applying, but we keep denying” who talks like that? Insurance companies are evil.

My mom’s best friend had ALS. It moved quickly and she was a firecracker and funny as hell but dealing with all of that dulled her shine and she just became a shell of herself. Her husband and daughter cared for her and it took a serious toll on them as well.

Apparently she’s in a relationship with a Billionaire (with a B). I know he’s not obligated to pay for his gf‘s ex-husband‘s care by law but it puts a bad taste in my mouth. Yes, it’s important that she’s drawing attention to the struggle with health care, on the other hand she doesn’t „struggle“ and they would’ve found a way to „get it covered“. There’s families who don’t have the money for any care at all and who wouldn’t have been able to appeal, let alone twice. And, as she said herself, they’re involving friends in his care when a nurse or she herself don’t have time - I find it odd that apparently they draw the line at financial involvement of a billionaire that’s also not only a friend but the boyfriend

Listening to this about the insurance it tells you that if even her had to fight as hard to get one nurse, i know understand how my grandma had to wait to literally be on hospice to get one that didnt even showed up at the moment she was dying … paying for you nothing, our nurse was not even trained on what to do or how to handle the situation. So literally our family did everything, traveling and taking shifts; including the handling of the body thank you. A horrible experience!
