Since the 1830’s EVs have been available- literally for 200 years. Very very few people want a car that is horrible for the environment, chews through tires, can’t leave town, barely, if at all work in cold weather, and cost a fortune to replace the battery.

There is a documentary on it. Texaco bought the battery tech, and THAT is why it's taken so long to have electric now. It is STILL a problem, batteries just weigh too much...
