In my country we offer a full meal. Most of the women spend all the money earned on their kids. So we know they're hungry and exhausted. The meal is at least three dishes, as it's probably her only nourishment of the day. They're grateful and it's a great time to talk to them and know more about their life. They know the best jokes, too! Before leaving they usually do something extra, like a special "salsa" for the family.

my cleaning lady had a tub in my fridge with her fave drinks and snacks, she was more comfortable getting something out the fridge knowing it was specifically there

none of that would bother me. my cleaning lady is an angel! I seriously appreciate her so much, she makes my life so much easier and if that means sometimes she wants a bottle of water from the fridge I'm 100% okay with that. I will stock the fridge with her favorites so that she has something when she comes.

A piece of toast is crossing the line? Maybe because I’m South African and we feed our cleaning ladies. We leave them last night’s dinner so they can eat it for lunch and they can make breakfast before lunch and help themselves to breakfast food from the freezer

I dog sit for a family friend, they have a cleaning lady who comes every week even when I'm there. I make her a cup of tea/coffee every time and she gets some of the eggs from the chickens. People are people why should she be treated badly? She probably does a better job as he's kind to her.

My cleaning lady cleans out my candy bowls (just kidding, she takes a few). I am totally okay with that. She also can take a break and pour herself some tea or an other drink. I can take a drink and a break on my job too, I think that’s normal
