Hey guys, a little explanation here for those who are confused about what happened! When the police barged in, the child was in the room adjacent to where the man was. When the mother moved to leave, the man grabbed the child (when you can hear the kid scream) and stabbed them. The police officer rushed to try and disarm him so he wouldn't go further, unfortunately the man used the child to shield himself from the bullet (which seems to have failed since he died.) The cop thought he was the one who killed the kid, but in this situation, the man with the knife is the one who did.

Basically when the dad was there,the kid was in the other room,when the child screamed he stabbed the child,then the man used the kid as a shield denying every chance of survival of the child. The officer is innocent.
