They can order a patient observer so that when family is not there someone is in the room to keep him safe.

Thank you for being there with him. It’s the best thing for him. The restraints/confusion/sudden loss of function can be super agitating for them. Seeing people he recognizes helps. Praying he gets better soon. Make sure you get some rest as well❤️🩹

my moms sugar would go up with the liquid food. And her not being able to communicate made her anxious. She got better when she started eating solids

can one of you stay with him? my sister stayed with my grandpa while he was hospitalized she was the one that really watched him and called the nurse if anything was happening.

Ask for a Patient Advocate, so they can submit a request to have someone monitor him overnight.

You should ask them if you can stay overnight. We had someone always there with my dad to help him feel more comfortable. They have couches for you to sleep in

I’m a neuro nurse I’ve worked with stroke patients for many years and this type of behavior is very common unfortunately due to the stroke and sometimes hospital delirium. Its good that your with him, he needs familiar faces and constant redirection. Stroke recovery is long and sometimes not linear.
