It’s funny how they say Americans have no culture. I was raised by a dad who taught me it was rude to not small talk. You acknowledge everyone because they are human and deserve your attention and respect. I think that at least was a cultural value passed down to me.

people seem to have "tall poppy syndrome" in a lot of places. Americans don't mind standing out and being recognized for it and I think that's a good thing. I think it goes along in a similar skill set as talking with strangers. we don't mind being perceived or perceiving others.

Absolutely true. I’m German, but lived in numerous countries. As much as I love Europe, America is the better than Europe for pursuing dreams and folks are way friendlier and encouraging. On a side note. The Vietnamese and Thai people are wonderful.

I literally met a stranger in the elevator the other day & told him "look, we have the same color coat! We're twins! The stranger laughed & said yes we were & that only the best people wore orange coats. 😂😂

It’s because many of us were taught by our parents, teachers, etc., that you could do anything if you set your mind to it. We carry that encouragement to our children ❤ & In my part of Texas, we always talk to each other. A girl struck a conversation with my daughter and I in a store when we were debating on which product to buy for her friends birthday party. I can’t imagine not talking to people like this.
