That is absolutely wild but I believe it. I remember as a kid, said movie rental place did the same thing to my mom even though it showed in their system the movie had been returned on time, they wouldn’t let her rent anything else until she paid the fee even though they agreed it was an invalid fee. It didn’t affect her job or anything but we stopped going to BB after that 😑
