We had a lot of them in Portugal some years ago🥺 unfortunately people destroy their habitats and run them over on roads. I have a big trauma related to one situation from two summers ago. I saw one on the road, going straight in front of the cars that were coming the other way. I made a signal for them to stop and they did but when they saw it was for an animal, they tried to run it over on purpose... it was injured only in the tongue, I have absolutely no idea how, but I help it out of the road, to a tree very far from the cars. I rlly hope he survived...my mother went there the next day and it wasn't there anymore. I would love if we had better solutions to protect biodiversity, and better legal protection as well. I still think about it today, I think I've never cried so much with rage.
