I feel a sorcerer would fit better. A person who hates magic that is innately magical, it comes naturally. He cannot deny his birthright, his living bond with magic.

my current wizard was thought the ethics of magic, in the backstory i made some wizard teach him the ethics of magic so the fire never happens

I made a character similar to this. He was seeker that was sold into slavery. His "master" was a sorcerer that would test spells on him. The sorcerer even had runes inscribed onto my characters body. These runes had an unintended effect which allowed my character to create arrows of pure energy. All it basically did was make so he didn't need to carry arrows. My DM though later allowed the runes to increase my stats when fighting a magic user.
