Met a kid years ago, his face was heavily scarred, asked what happened to him. He said he got attacked by a friends Labrador… any dog has the capacity to be aggressive but 99.9% of the time you can only blame the owner

Reading many of the comments here actually makes me furious… When you acquire an animal, you are responsible for its actions! A dog ending up in the wrong hands is not the animal’s fault. A well-trained, balanced dog will not harm others. A dog with an ignorant, naïve owner who gets a dog without understanding that it requires work can harm people — regardless of whether it’s a Rottweiler, Pinscher, terrier, or any other breed! They are all capable of killing humans if triggered in the wrong way! But does that mean all other pets people keep, like snakes for example, should also be abolished? Or what about all the wild animals that kill and are dangerous to humans!? These dog breeds are judged based on their appearance and size, without anyone even bothering to read up on what the breed was actually bred for and what its instincts are. There have been Golden Retrievers that have killed people before, but that’s not talked about nearly as much, because they’re supposed to be “people-friendly” 😡

my daughter os very nervous around dogs. one day walking home a man was walking his massive bear of an XL bully. liv being as nervous as she is hid behind me. the look of that mans face ill never forget. he was so apologetic. stop and talked to us for ages. spoke to her about the muzzle. explained to her why he needed it. the dog just sat there. in the end liv asked if she could stroke him and the owner said yes. the dog out his head in her hands. and then she hugged him and he just rested his head on her shoulders. the owner was teary, I was teary. the best interaction ive ever had with a dog owner and he was the goddess boy! never seen them again. but it really helped my daughter be less nervous. the way he spoke to her ans answered all her questions. lovely man.
