It’s free, why complain? I’ve lived in military housing on Camp Pendleton, partial ocean view. Don’t destroy anything and when you move out hire someone to clean so you can pass inspection immediately.

I think contact paper will pull the paint off when you remove it . You will have to return the place to exactly how it was when you moved in. Maybe you should check with housing before you do this

Just know you will have to return everything to exactly the way it was when you moved in (even if its a big improvement). We built a screened porch on our military housing in HI and had to take it down when we moved out.

Turn the contact paper around, so you’re not having to make multiple layers. Cut it from the long side, not the short side.

As a former military wife that lived in base housing be really careful because if that house cannot pass inspection once you move out your husband will be charged Or whichever is in the military will be charged. For all repairs, that need to be done

We lived in military housing for 20 years. We were never allowed to do anything to kitchen cabinets. If we wanted to pain walls, we had to change it back to original color before we moved out

Follow the rules make sure you ask. And don’t forget housing is not important to the military.. got a roof over your head a place to lay your head, hot in cold water you’re good. I know this from 25 years with the MILITARY as a wife.

This house is not free. I’m so tired of seeing “it’s free” in relation to on post housing. It’s paid for with BAH which is compensation he receives for doing his JOB. It is worked for and earned. The mindset that it’s free and so we should just be happy is what allows the installations to behave like slumlords so please, remove that from your heads. Not free. They give him an allowance for housing bc he performs a job. It’s pay from his employer.
