What I learned from watching this film, "Good Will Hunting," is that some people have a special skill at avoiding things. It's not about being lazy, indifferent, or uncaring, nor is it about running away from responsibility. It's about a body that's unprepared to face reality without feeling threatened, because of something within itself that's often neglected. So the brain automatically creates a strategy: Avoid it first, so it won't be destroyed again. Or it could also be interpreted as a defense mechanism, avoiding it as an automatic protection system. Physically fleeing but also emotionally paralyzed, and that behavior won't disappear just because of positive affect. What's needed are small but consistent actions, demonstrating that what they perceive as danger is now safe and needs to be given space. Because this isn't something to be solved today, but about training the body to stay present even when it doesn't feel comfortable or safe. That's what the main character in "Good Will Hunting" has felt so far.

I might be pulling at strings but will as a character is so soul crushing and beautiful but Chuckie always meant more to me personally, because he grew up with and adored his best friend who would always be better then him who he always knew would leave. He was surrounded by a genius that had a whole path ahead of him while he was stuck because he wasn’t as smart. It always seemed so close to home and reality.
