Pork, sauerkraut and smoked sausage cooked all day in the crockpot. Black Eyed Peas with spinach, garlic cabbage w/noodles onions and celery and a dish of cornbread. Yummy!!!!

I went to Olive Garden recently and had shrimp angel hair marina. I did not make it home. That’s the first time that has ever happened to me and I blamed their salad. I ate the shrimp out of my left overs and died again. Didn’t learn a thing but I was home the second time. Going to write them a letter on Tuesday.

New Year’s Day my nanny always made everyone eat cooked cabbage for money, black eyed peas for luck and hog jawl for health!! Everyone had to take at least a bite. So many superstitions with the new year. The first person to walk through her door on New Year’s had to be a man. Have to wait to take your tree down after old Christmas (January 6th). No laundry on old Christmas either! You will was someone out of your life and no you don’t get to choose who! Believe me, I asked!!! Just a few of her superstitions!! I miss her sooooo much!!!
